The Service
Render that protects as well as it looks
Render keeps weather out of the walls as much as it smartens a house up. Living near the sea, that matters. Salt air and driving rain are hard on render along the coast, from Southbourne to Canford Cliffs, and cracked or blown render lets water in behind it.
We apply K Rend and other silicone thin-coat systems, monocouche, traditional sand and cement, and pebbledash. Thin-coat and monocouche renders come through-coloured and need no painting. Sand and cement suits older properties and is painted once cured. We talk you through which suits your walls and budget before we price.
For repairs, cracked and blown areas are cut out back to sound render and rebuilt in a matching system, so the patch blends in rather than standing out as a newer square on the wall.

How We Work
How Our Rendering Process Works
Rendering depends on the weather as much as the workmanship, so we plan the job around both and keep you updated if the forecast turns.
Survey the Walls
We look at what the walls are built from, the state of any existing render and the exposure to wind and rain, then recommend a system and put the price in writing.
Prepare & Protect
Scaffold goes up, windows, doors and paths are protected, and loose or blown render is taken off. Beads are fixed at corners, reveals and the base of the wall.
Apply the Render
Base coats and mesh go on where the system calls for them, then the finish coat is applied and worked evenly across each elevation to avoid visible joins.
Finish & Clear Up
We check lines and corners, clean down windows and sills, and take all waste away before the scaffold comes down.

Reviews
Rendering reviews from local customers
Rendered the front and side of the house in K Rend. Neat lines, tidy scaffolding and a fair price.
We manage several rentals and use them for all our plastering now. Reliable with dates, which matters to us.
Two-storey extension plastered start to finish. Kept pace with our builder and left it ready to decorate.
Quoted on the Monday, started the following week, finished on the day they said. No surprises on price.
Patch repairs in three bedrooms plus a hallway ceiling. Tidy work and genuinely nice lads to have in the house.
Our 1930s hallway walls were all over the place. They straightened everything out and the corners are razor sharp.
Skimmed our whole downstairs after we took the wallpaper off. Walls came up perfectly flat and they cleaned up every evening.
Old lath and plaster wall replaced with plasterboard and skimmed. Explained the options clearly before starting.

FAQs
Rendering questions
What people ask us most before they book rendering. If you are choosing between systems, call and we will talk you through them.
01202 125594How much does rendering cost in Bournemouth?
Rendering is priced per job, because the system, the size and height of the walls, the state of any existing render and the scaffold needed all change the cost. We survey the walls and give you a written quote, usually within 48 hours.
What types of rendering do you provide?
Four main types: K Rend and similar silicone thin-coat renders, monocouche, traditional sand and cement, and pebbledash, which we repair or replace. The survey decides which one suits your walls.
What is the difference between K Rend and sand and cement?
K Rend and similar silicone renders are through-coloured, repel water and do not need painting. Sand and cement is the traditional option: it is tough and usually cheaper to apply, but it is painted once cured and needs repainting over the years.
Why does render crack near the sea?
Wind-driven rain and salt get into small cracks, and the render starts to lose its grip on the wall behind. We cut those sections back to sound render and rebuild them in the same system, so the wall is sealed again.
Can you render in winter?
Render cannot go on in frost or heavy rain, and most systems have a minimum temperature. We plan exterior work around the forecast and will move a day rather than risk the finish.
Can you match new render to my existing render?
We rebuild repairs in the same system as the existing render. Texture can be matched closely. Colour on older, weathered render can differ slightly at first, and we will tell you honestly before we start if a full elevation would look better.
Do I need scaffolding for rendering?
For most house walls, yes. Scaffold lets the render go on evenly across a whole elevation. Low garden walls and small repairs can often be done from steps or a tower.
Do you render outside Bournemouth?
Yes. We render and repair render in Poole, Christchurch, Ferndown, Wimborne, Ringwood, Verwood and New Milton, and take on larger exterior jobs further into east Dorset and west Hampshire.
