Skimming, extensions, garage conversions and ceiling repairs for Verwood’s family homes, from Ebblake and the town centre out to Three Legged Cross.
A few details is all we need. We come back to you, usually the same working day.
About the Area
Verwood has grown from a small village into a busy town over the last fifty years, and most of its homes were built from the 1970s onwards. That means plasterboard walls and ceilings rather than old lath, and the jobs we see most are about changing and extending homes rather than rescuing them.
Families extend out the back, convert garages into playrooms and offices, and open up kitchens and dining rooms. Each of those needs boarding, taping and a good skim, with the join to the existing house made invisible so the new space feels like it was always there.
The other regular calls are ceilings cracked along board joints, textured ceilings from the 1970s and 80s that owners want flat, and walls that need re-skimming after years of family life. Three Legged Cross and Woolsbridge get the same service as the town itself.

How We Work
Most Verwood jobs are part of a bigger change to the house, so we fit our part neatly around the rest.
Tell us what you are changing — an extension, a conversion or a room refresh — with rough sizes and any drawings or photos you have.
You get a written price, and if a builder is involved, we agree dates with them so the plastering slots in at the right point.
New walls and ceilings are boarded and taped, old surfaces are prepared, and everything gets a full two-coat skim.
We check the finish, remove all waste and offcuts, and let you know when the room will be ready to decorate.
Tell us what you are planning for your Verwood home and we will come back with a written price and dates that fit around your project.

Whole house skimmed after our extension was built. Kept pace with the builder and left every room ready to decorate.
Quoted on the Monday, started the following week, finished on the day they said. No surprises on price.
Old lath and plaster wall was boarded out then skimmed. Talked me through the options honestly before quoting.
Two bedroom ceilings skimmed in a day and a half. No mess left behind and the finish took paint beautifully.
Ceiling came down after a bathroom leak upstairs. They boarded and skimmed it within two days of me calling.
Skimmed our whole downstairs after we took the wallpaper off. Walls came up perfectly flat and they cleaned up every evening.
Patch repairs in three bedrooms plus a hallway ceiling. Tidy work and genuinely nice lads to have in the house.
Skimmed over textured walls in our rental flat. You would never know what was underneath it now.

FAQs
The questions Verwood homeowners ask us most. Call if you would like to talk through your own plans.
01202 125594It depends on the size of the extension and the surfaces involved, so we price it as one package from the drawings or a visit. The quote is free, written and broken down so you can see what is included.
Yes, along with Woolsbridge, Ebblake, Stephen’s Castle and the rest of Verwood.
Yes. Once the builder has insulated and framed out the space, we board, tape and skim the walls and ceiling so it finishes like any other room.
In homes built with plasterboard, cracks usually follow joints that were never properly taped, or boards that have worked loose. We re-fix the boards, tape the joints and skim so the cracks stay closed.
Yes. Most 1970s and 80s patterns can be sealed and skimmed straight over. Heavier ones are knocked back or boarded first so the ceiling ends up flat.
Yes. We agree dates with your builder so the plastering happens at the right stage, and we keep our area tidy for the trades that follow.
Yes, we carry public liability insurance and can send the certificate with your quote if you or your builder need it.
Usually three to seven days after skimming, longer in cold or damp weather. Once the plaster is evenly pale, start with a mist coat.
