Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Reliable Plasterers Bournemouth collects about you, why we collect it, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. It covers this website and the plastering work we carry out.
We are the data controller for the information described here. That means we decide why and how it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Reliable Plasterers Bournemouth Bournemouth, Dorset Telephone: 01202 125594
If you have any question about this policy, or about the information we hold on you, contact us by phone and we will deal with it ourselves — we are a small business and there is no call centre in between.
2. The information we collect
When you enquire. Your name, email address, telephone number, the address or area of the property, and whatever you tell us about the work you need. If you send photographs of a room, wall or ceiling, we collect those too.
When we quote and carry out work. Measurements and notes about the property, access arrangements, the dates we attend, photographs of the work before, during and after, and the records needed to invoice you and honour your workmanship guarantee.
When you pay us. The payment reference and amount. We do not see or store full card details.
When you use this website. Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited, in server logs used to keep the site running and secure. We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking software on this site.
We do not collect special category data (such as health information), and we ask that you do not send it to us. We do not knowingly collect information about children.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation — because you asked us to, as steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
- To carry out the work, arrange access and invoice you — because it is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To honour the workmanship guarantee and deal with any later problem — our legitimate interest in standing behind our work, and yours in having it put right.
- To keep accounting and tax records — because the law requires it.
- To use photographs of completed work as examples — only with your separate consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We will never use a photograph that identifies your property without asking you first.
- To protect the website and our business from misuse — our legitimate interest in security.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do share it with:
- Our customer enquiry system. The enquiry forms on this website are provided by HighLevel, and the details you submit are stored in our account there so we can respond and keep track of the job.
- Our website host, Cloudflare, which serves this site and keeps the server logs described above.
- Our email provider, to send and receive messages about your enquiry.
- Our accountant and HMRC, for invoices, tax and statutory records.
- Suppliers or other trades, but only the minimum needed — for example, a delivery address for materials, or access arrangements where we work alongside your builder.
- Anyone we are legally required to share it with, such as a regulator, insurer or court.
Some of these providers are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where information is transferred abroad, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
5. Cookies and the forms on this site
This website sets no cookies of its own, and carries no analytics, advertising, or social media tracking. Two things on the site do load from elsewhere:
- The enquiry forms are embedded from HighLevel. Submitting a form sends your details to them on our behalf, and the form may set cookies needed for it to work.
- The coverage map on our areas pages loads mapping software and map tiles from third parties, which receive your IP address as part of that request. The map is not needed to read the page or to contact us.
Our fonts are served from this website rather than a third party, so browsing the site makes no request to any font provider.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the enquiry forms may not work correctly if you do.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Quotations: up to 2 years, so we can honour a price we gave you.
- Job records, invoices and accounting records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required by HMRC.
- Records relating to the 10-year workmanship guarantee, including job photographs: for the length of the guarantee, so we can honour it.
- Photographs used as examples of our work: until you withdraw consent.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask us to delete information, where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it under legitimate interests;
- ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a machine-readable form;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.
To exercise any of these, contact us by phone. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
8. Keeping your information safe
We keep records on password-protected devices and accounts, limit access to the people who need it, and use reputable providers for our website and enquiry system. No system is completely secure, but if a breach occurred that was likely to put your rights at risk we would tell you and the ICO promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Please check it from time to time.
